I don't know if it's exacly the same stuff of not, but I saw an episode of Dirty Jobs where a guy in Hawaii had a T Shirt/Clothing business where he used the red clay in Hawaii as the dye for his entire line of products. Here's a link/more info: https://reddirtmaui.com/collections/dirt-shirts
