lil 500 recap  

 Mumser and I made it to the lil 500. There was a bad wreck on RT6 just west of BG, had the road closed for an hour. But was able to get my normal parking spot at the track and bought $19.oo worth of track food to get me through the day. About 7 the fanfare starts so I put Mumser in the toter and walked in and got my assigned seat. Section JJ aisle 10 seat 11, you might want to Google that. So the green flag flies and 33 fast sprint cars take off like a bat out of hell. 32 of 'em make it throgh turn 3, but the 44 car slams straight into the 3rd turn wall. I watched him do it, musta' been a failure of 3 things at the same instant, 1)steering ...  the front tires never turned , 2) no skid mark from brake application, 3) brain fart. And for the next 100 laps or so several cars stuffed the right front into the stoic cement wall.   By the time things settled down and got sorted out 1/2 the laps were in. Then with 496 laps in, coming out of four 3 cars get together and wipe out front runners, setting up a green white dash for the 16 remaining cars to finish the event.   So the green flies and lap 499 is history but Armstong in the 1 car slips high out of two and his cousin in the 7 car blows by him.  Both drivers dive bomb into 3 and the 1 washes up and has to back out of  it. Armstrong in the 7 car wins after leading for less than 1/2 a lap. Armstrong in the 1 gets 2nd after leading may 200 of the 500 lap race.
