Yup... It was hot for sure, but also, we ended up having thunder and lightning around 4pm followed by at least 30 minutes of rain, so heat, rain...whatever... it was a no win situation for a track trying to run a succesful show (I'm about 12 mins northwest of the track and usually have similar weather.) Definitely the right decision to cancel, whether for heat, or rain forecasted, not to mention that even if the rain hadn't happened, it would have been a very light crowd because of the heat. As a non-affiliated with any raceteam/track staff, I would have sat the night out, however if it had been a 7pm or 7:30 start time (knowing the peak sun was behind the stands) and if I had confidence that they could move the show along and get it done in 3 hours, I would have considered going if they were running.
