Received this from friend of The Vault Fred Menschner regarding a question I had asked him a while back about the history of one of the early #21 coupes that he fielded, with driver Ray Neary behind the wheel:

A "youthful" looking Fred Menschner (sorry Fred... I had to say it - you look like you were about 18!) and his pilot, the "dashing" Ray Neary.

Here's some comments directly from Fred regarding the car pictured above:

"Here's a picture of Ray and myself in the #21 that was the #39 we bought from Dave Piscope 1968.  (Photo by Rich Berman ..one of our crew men.)"

"This was the car Dave used as his big track car, the former #327."

"We paid $2500.00 for the car and the night we paid for it, Dave Piscopo, Ray, and myself pushed the race car from Piscopo's garage down the street and around the corner to the garage we were renting across the street from Ray's house on Robertson Ave in Morrisville, Pa. We rented this small two bay garage that was the first garage that the Piscope brothers started in, that was next to Dave Piscopo's house. That night, when we got the race car in our garage, Dave Piscopo tried to remove the steering wheel which he wanted, but couldn't get it off. It was a complete car minus the engine, still painted white with the 39 lettering."
