Joe, your story of Fred hits home for me.  I lost my father in a tragic accident when I was 16.  We had been going to Flemington and East Windsor for several years together.  My dad was from Morrisville, and lived a block away from Ray on the same street.  My uncles both worked at Piscopo Bros at times when growing up.  My dad introduced me to Ray when I was about 14. Also got to meet the Taylors and another local racer Red Walker.  After my dad passed, my grandmother used to take me up to Freds garage and drop me off. Fred welcomed me and I became sort of the gopher in the shop, mostly sweeping up after the crew. Met Rich Behrmann and Art Rustay there, as they were the crew on the car.  I am to this day still close friends with Hippie, as Rich was known back then. We have been in the same fire company together for over 40 years.  Fred was always there to help me when I was given a project to do that I wasn't sure about.  Now, 50 years later, I am still involved in local dirt track racing as a crew member for a third generation sprint car driver, thanks in a huge part to Fred Menschner.  Allen Doan
