Back in the old, great days of clean NASCAR GN racing, Curtis Turner had the nickname "Pops", not because he was the lovable, older hero of NASCAR racing, but for his habit of "popping" his competitors in the door to move them so that he could make the pass. Dale Earnhardt senior was another one for using the "bump & run" pass.
Just sayin' ...
