Thanks Ernie - Always the professional, Ernie reached out to me a little while back and asked if he could include some of the info from the post about "tinkering" in one of his upcoming columns.  Thank you Ernie for including the info - very much appreciated.

I'd also like to thank Vault Visitor "T-Hem" for starting the thread about the lower car counts that are becoming the norm.  Thanks also to those who added their comments here on the board to T-Hem's original thread.  For those who missed it, scroll down to 8/14 and look for the subject line "Car Counts - Your Top 5 Reasons."

As a follow up, and with Kevin mentioning Al, I went digging through some old scrapbooks and found the following article that is from 1976 (possibly from the Trentonian?) that really fits in well with the discussion about tinkering.....  I see that Don Nugent (dnoldschool34 here on the board) was the credited photographer for the article, so maybe he can provide more info about the article (maybe written by Pat Singer?) other info, etc.,.
