Photo No. 1. Johnny Luhrs. The guy who got me involved in this crazy racing world. He kept this car and the No. ZX3 at Ruth Mauser's Sinclair gas station in Farmingdale when I was a kid. From the beginning of the season until the end, I lived there for those cars. He was and still is a very nice man to us kids in the neighborhood. |

I remember in the mid to late sixties, Johnny Luhrs would occasionally run on the dirt at East Windsor before there was much difference if any between dirt and asphalt cars. Quite a few Wall Stadium regulars would compete and fair quite well there. |

JEFF I AM WITH YOU ON THAT! ALSO KEVAN CONNOVER, BILL WORTH, RONNIE AYERS, AND BOB POLHEIMIS , ALL GOOD PEOPLE. I WORKED FOR RUTH MAUSER FOR FOUR YEARS WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL PART TIME AND WEEK ENDS. WE COULDNOT WAIT FOR SATURDAY NIGHT. THE ENTIRE MAUSER FAMILY AND JOHNNY LUHRS WHERE VERY GOOD TO ME. |
