This morning I caught a story on TV news about a New Jersey man Lew Slocum who was celebrating his 100th birthday at a bowling alley that is owned by his family. It seems that I remember Chip was involved in a bowling alley when he raced East Windsor Speedway. Could Lew Slocum be related to Chip? At any rate, Happy 100th Birthday to this gentelman! |

I believe the 1st C&L 22 was driven by Paul "Sandy" Rochelle. The C&L stodd for Chip and Lew. I'd pass their bowling alley (Slocum's Bowl O Drome) on Route 31 in Ewing, NJ on my way to class at Treton State College (now TCNJ). Every once in awhile, their hot rod and trailer would be parked in their parking lot. Scott Ely |

Just heard from a patient of mine this morning, who is friend's with Chip's youngest son and is in the son's wedding this friday; that Chip's father turned 100 on 2/22/22 and there was a video of him that day bowling and knocking down a #10 pin spare ! Happy 100 Lew Slocum !! |
