Just noticed that the car in photo #5 is OUTSIDE the fence! Looks like EWS? |

I was there the night Danny Mitchell fliped over the first turn wall at East Windsor. He used to show up with a fleet of cars ( former Buzzie coupes I think) on a 3 car carrier and some nights he needed all of them |

Yes, that's our old buddy Danny Mitchell outside the fence during the 1972 season in his former Buzzie Reading car. That was the car with the huge engine setback, 2nd car he bought from Buzzie. I also like that top photo, I see a North American Aviation T-6/SNJ trainer pulled up to the hanger. |

I remember the Harry Taylor wreck at East Windor (photo #2) but I forgot whose car was underneath?

Harry and his dad had a gas station (Gulf?), repair shop in Wrightstown, NJ. I could be wrong but that looks like Butch Jones (Don's son) in the plaid coat next to Harry's Falcon. Back in those days, Jones used a couple of his container trucks as wreckers. Scott Ely |

I remember the container trucks all to well. The last time I ran there. They used one to put my car on the trailer. |

All pictures from East Windsor Speedway:
Now we all know why it is called "Airport Road." I think Don Stives told me that the airport was on the pit side of the parcel, but I'm not sure about that....
Harry Taylor in the #7T Falcon, but not sure who is underneath the back of it...
Pretty sure the sedan is Frank Kelly (#31K), and if you look behind the sedan, there is a car flipping that might be Gary Boekout in the #33Sr? (Just a guess.)
On the side of the #12 it says "Driven by Dave Walker" and on the mangled car behind the #12 it says "Driven by Tom Comerford."
Danny Mitchell on the outside of the wooden fence in turn 1 at EWS. Car is on the top side of the embankment, and looks like it was just one roll away from ending up on the parking lot road that ran from the office over to the pits. Rescue crew are 1/2 way inside the car on each side trying to help Danny who is still straped in, hanging upside down. Pretty dangerous position for the person coming to Danny's aid on the left side of the car as it looks like the car could still roll over. As was noted, this is a former Buzzie #00 (left hand driver.) |
