Ran into and sat with 3Widers Joe McFarlane and Don Wolfe at Bridgeport.  For me, last night's action was well worth the trip but the results, modifieds wise, was the current norm.  What made last night special for me was the great conversations I had with Don and Joe throughout the night.  The passion for the sport of Saturday night racing, and the desire to keeping its past alive, is truly amazing.  We talked about the present state of local racing.  Most interesting were ideas shared regarding how shows are run and the different systems used to determine heat and feature line ups for different tracks.  While checking out the modified lineup, behind the grandstands, I was amazed at how many race fans, including drivers, waved or said hi to Joe and Don.  I felt like a rock band roadie!  Scott Ely

Nice night at Bridgeport.  Racing very, very good, show moved along well, and good conversation and a few laughs throughout the show, with meeting up and sitting with Scott and the two Bob's from Toms River.  (Lots of combined racing years of attending short track races between that group!)

As for feeling like a rock band roadie Scott, you gotta hang with Kevin Eyres more...  Now there's a rock star...  You won't be able to walk 5 feet without somebody stopping him to shoot the breeze.

Great night to be at Bridgeport.

The racing was very enjoyable. Have not left there once with a bad feeling since the track was changed. I miss the 5/8 but the side racing and slide jobs are more exciting. Especially since the cars numbers have been declining over the years. The Modified heat races each had about 10 cars making a consi worth while. To bad Cozze's motor blew while being in a qualified position.

Glad you came up and sat with us Scott. Would not consider me as rock star.  (will leave that to Kevin.)

Was surprised to see Billy Pauch Sr hanging by the 96 for a brief time behind the Grand Stand. The family was there with Mandy and Mike in attendence. On the way out Ryan Godown was standing by the Grandstand entrance/walkway, watching Jr. in the Sportsman Feature.
