Interesting that both drivers in the 4th picture left those cars seen here to drive the same car... Statewide #3 Weld car. |

Gary's helmet is the red he painted it when he drove for Statewide so this must be when he came back to 73. Jimmy must be only days away from getting the Statewide ride.
What kind of car is Toby standing next to? |

I have no more info on the picture of Toby. I think it is an Indy car at Trenton, and would guess that it was around 1970. I scanned the image from a negative that had no information, so we'll need the Vault detectives to start sleuthin' (is that a word?) |

Toby practiced, but did not qualify the #101 Emrich Chevrolet at the 1971 Tony Bettenhausen 200 at the Milwaukee Mile. |

Toby in an indy car? More info please. #56 Jim Hertabise with Smokey Yunick standing next to car. I think they called this car the mallard? The last roadster to qualify for indy? Bottom pic, sportsman racing at Nazareth, Y73 Richie Yetter, 25 Brian Kantner. Looks like Richie Smith 555 up in the air. |

If it's the Emerich Chevrolet car, it's the car Bobby Allen drove. Supposedly the deal was, Shorty bought the car, Bobby had to finance it, and he ran out of money. |
