I can't remember if we ever posted this before, but even if we did, I'm sure there's a few new folks out there that wouldn't have seen it before anyhow, but here's a little flyer/program that is labeled at "AARN Reporters Ball - December 4, 1965:
I was told by Ray Neary many years ago that the "polecat" as seen here on the front cover of the program, and as was painted on the trunk of the #39, was actually drawn by Tas. |

Awesome !! THANKS , Joe . In my eyes , Al was the best . He had it all ; driving talent , fan appeal , & charisma !! He had a great understanding of how important race fans were to the success of a driver & to racing itself . |

This is very cool. I can remember that, when the 39 crew rolled in the gate no matter what track, electricity ran through the stands. The car was always well prepared and seemed to shine brighter than any around it. |
