It's been 20 plus years around here for some of us... and I can't remember if we did a Trivia question about cool/unique #'s at some point in the past or not.

I was watching Flo this weekend, and saw a sprint car with the #I1, as in "I" -"won".....  The driver's first name is Ivan, so I guess that's where the "I" came from, but when you put the "I" with a "1", it's a pretty cool #.

Any other #'s out there that you think were somewhat creative/clever?

My all time favorite- Diamond D Johnny Ditmar.  I was just randomly thinking last night- I believe that one of his cars had a steering wheel from a '59 or '60 Oldamobile which were very unique (goggle it).  Something only a 10 year old would notice!  Johnny ran Flemington and Harmony and maybe Nazareth (I didn't get there much until RSCA stopped running at Harmony).

Not necessarly unique but idistinctive was Carl Van Horn's iconic 71E or 71e depending on the year.  The story is that when Carl first started racing, he chose 71 because there were no 71's at Stroudsburg Speedway.  When he towed in, there were four other 71's: 71A, 71B, 71C, and 71D so his car became 71E and he kept it throughout his career.

I can remember saying to my buddies when we went to Wall, "That guy in the 2 car always tries harder".  A reference to Avis' advertising theme at the time.  Always thought the "2" was the right number for a hot rod sponsored Avis. After meeting Kevin, he's No. 1 in my book!  Scott Ely

Amazing thing about sitting in the cars from the 40's to the 70's was "how the fuc*" did they drive these?"  lol. I say that about every one I have sat in. When you sit in one you really appreciate how daring and brave they were.  I guess in thirty years, someone will sit in a car of today and say the same thing.
