I showed Tim Sassaman the picture (he'd never seen it before), he said that's Jim Laubach saluting the unknown driver in the 50. Jim occasionally drove Tim's car.

Obviously, whoever was in the 50 was not apprecative of Chic Ronan's driving style on this particular day.  I  believe this photo was from 1975 as that was the year I bought the R-2 from Chic and he then drove Art Roustay's 50.  My driving career lasted all of 4 or 5 races as I quickly learned I was better suited as a fan.  Scott Ely
