We all know that most New Year's Resolutions usually only last for a week or so, but just to get an idea of what you/us folks are thinking as we get into 2024, with a new racing season (locally) just a few months away, what New Year's Racing (or other) are you guys.. well... let's just say "considering?" If "Resolution" is a little to strong, let us know if you have any racing plans (watching, attending, participating) for 2024. Thanks, and Happy New Year. 3Wide |

My resolution: Don't bitch about racing. Enjot it for what it is and not get caught up in complaining. |

Well that is a hard question to answer. The plans in my head don't mesh with my wallet or ambition level. But when I get back from speedweeks I want to get my newest project (1977 J&J sprint car) finished up and ready for the season. It just needs paint and lettering, so far..... Then will be to replace the engine in the 37 slant back and get it running for the track. Spent 2 years building it and upon start up it ran about half a minute and blew up, so behind the barn she went. Anymore it seems as though things beyond my control keep fighting me for my time and attention, floods, heath issues, & that damn zoning Nazi....
Perhaps we can revisit this next November and see how we did. Whatda ya think ????????? |

Like Kevin stated, just want to get out to the tracks and enjoy it more. Take the camera along and see what I can find. I've seen some awesome racing & met some really cool people wandering around dirt tracks. Here's to a happy and healthy 2024 to all!

I agree with old-timer, I have a box full of 70's nascar models that I have been wanting to get around to fixing up and some others that I have still in the box. Would also like to get out to a few races this year. 🏁 |

As a resolution, try to go back to a track that I have not been to in a while. Or get to Bridgeport more than once this year. Try to enjoy the races for what they are, the large fields of the past are history. |

My New Years racing resolution, being I’m close to finishing my Modified and I did not make it to the track at all last year I hope to make practice day somewhere and if all goes well try to race 6 times next season... |

I've never made a New Year's resolution, and never will. I always figured that if I needed to change something, do it now, don't wait for an excuse. Racing wise, I thought about going to Allentown Saturday, that would've started January with a race, followed by Lincoln in February. However, I got a racecar to letter this weekend, so this week is in jeopardy. If I would make it to December with the streak going, it would certainly involve a new track for me, no track I've already been to runs that late. A friend who races karts was running somewhere weekly in December, I think Virginia. Otherwise, business as usual, central Pa sprints with an occasional trip elsewhere, usually Grandview since it's close. |

Get over my fear of flying as I am heading to South Dakota in June to cover the High Bank Nationals at Husets Speedway. |

No, I have flown before but the older I get the harder it is to deal with, thankfully the good Dr writes me out some medicine so I can deal with it, kinda reminds me of the A TEAM and Mr T when they always would put him to sleep to get him on a plane. |

The bleachers there will make ya feel like if ya lean over, you'll fall out of your seat. Not a bad seat in the house for a view of the races. |

Simply make it out to a few more races. With the advent of Flo, I'm aware of how my attendance has probably decreased by 60-70%. I'm the first one to bitch when a track runs a show with a "back gate" mentality and pays little attention to the fans out front. The closest track to my house is Grandview, who runs two division most nights. No excuse for me not attending more races there. |
