....not Elvin in the #81. This was from around 1974 I think, and Elvin Felty didn't drive the #81 (Gremlin) until a few years later. I wouldn't have known who was in the #81, but the helmet with the flame pattern gives it away.... |

Somebody should build an Exact replica of it...Gil is still available to help with the project maybe? Has to be correct and not just an old coupe with a #12 on the door...HtH |

He still has the flares on top of the stacks, wondering how the filters were attached? |

John my guess is he welded a smaller alum tube just inside the edge of the flair?? Anyway it is superb...That car is fast sitting still... |

You guys got an extra gene at birth or something as I have looked at many pictures of that #12, from all different angles, and I never once noticed that the injector stacks have filters on top, but that the injector stacks are flared where they filters would mount.
I hope to see Gil at the GSVSCC banquet in a few weeks so if we don't get an answer before then, I'll get one from the man himself . |

Jay was about 20 years ahead of the curve with that #24. Tall cage, driver back, etc. |

The first is Frank Eppolite in my Dad's #00, it may well be Rich Varone in the A. I was around 16 years old at the time so my memory is vague at best. Mark Horger |
