Was reminiscing with a friend last night about Parnelli Jones. Other Old School drivers came up like AJ, the Unsers, and Tony Stewart. In NASCAR, names like Curtis Turner, Dale, Lee Petty, and Buck Baker were bandied about. In your opinion, who else could be considered "Old School", be it USAC, NASCAR, or CART, great drivers that you never wanted to get on their bad side?

Herk, Opperman, Sammy Sessions, Jr Johnson, Wendell Scott, Buck Baker, all the guys from the 50s and 60s. Anyone who worked as hard and drove knowing the dangers of getting killed were old school. When you give everything you have to a sport as cruel as racing can be your old school. Today's pampered drivers who are picked up in helicopters at home and have people waiting on them hand and foot wouldn't last a season if they had to go thought what the drivers did back in the old days.

Yea I remember when power steering made it possible for the weak to keep up...Mario was first with a USAC champ car...Lee Center Steerring was a prototype in the #1 red car..The same one we all used in the Mods....There were many tough racers in those days...
