Msg ID: 2821950 This Week's Question: Yellow Race Cars
Author:3-Wide
6/12/2024 3:14:21 PM

As mentioned last week, for some reason, I was thinking about colors of race cars... and how all these year's later, what cars come to mind when a particular color is mentioned....

So for this week... let's go with "YELLOW."

It could be a modified/sportsman, dirt/asphalt, sprint car, street stock/late model, stock car, indy car.... whatever, as long as it is a car that you think of when "YELLOW" race car is mentioned:

So, what cars and or driver's do you remember driving YELLOW cars?

Please provide car #, driver's name, and track raced at if you think it'll help us know which car you're referring to.

If you think of it, please delete the Subject Line and put the Driver's Name and/or Car # in the Subject Line of the post you are creating. That way, people can see the names that have been provided at a quick glance without combing through multiple posts to see if the driver they were going to add had already been provided.

Let's see what you guys come up with....

Brothers Steve and Mike had yellow Camaros In the modern stocks at Wall. Also affiliated with them was Bruce Marzlof's yellow nova, later yellow Camaro. And out of Bruce's shop was the 8 ball Malibu. I think it's in the picture vault as unknown. The #03 moder that Charlie Springsteel owned was red, then painted yellow along with his 65 pickup.

I believe all of Robbie's sprint car wins are in Fred's #89. Fred drove the ex-Bob McCullough limited sportsman coupe after Bob purchased Hilruth from Bob Rossell and moved into the Modified ranks in the early '70's. When Robbie won his first URC race at Selinsgrove in 2014 it was the first time in over 40 years that those connections visited victory lane as Bob won his lone modified feature at EWS in April 1974.

The Erb family at Grandview always ran yellow #44s.

I'm colored blind so I have to be careful posting during these discussions. A lot of the oranges cars posted earlier I grew up thinking they were red. Ha!
