Saw old friend Bill Bauman at New Egypt last night and handed me a bagful of mid 70's Wall Stadium photos. Awesome black and whites! Thank you Bill and great seeing you and please become a poster! Bill and Dad Bill Sr. were the scorers for Wall, East Windsor, and New Egypt that I know of.

I was working in the Flemington pits in the mid 1990’s. During intermission one Saturday night, they brought out about a dozen “classic” stock cars to turn some leasurly exhibition laps, one of them being the Joe Severage #7. After a couple of times around, the #7 figured “let’s have some fun” and just stood on the pedal for a few laps! I had almost forgotten what a Rat motor sounds like at full throttle! I looked around and just about every crewman had stopped what they were doing and were just staring at that blue and white #7, eyes following it around the track. Even saw a few with stopwatches out.

My Grandparents won the #11 decanter at a Wall banquet. Just like the one on the table to the left. Maybe it was that one. Dale Jr has the same one on the Download.

Actually, these and future postings, will be of "the official photo that goes into the file" of the heat race winners, which was always announced as every heat winner was photographed and no one ever skipped it.  I always pictured a file cabinet in the office filled and filed according to date, the heat race winners. Really made it official.  LOL

He actually had both decanters. They were on a shelf behind his bar. Not sure were they went when the bar corner disappeared. I'll ask my cousin.
